Hasbro 2016 reissue of the Micronaut Pharoid

As usual, I was excited to discover a new, or fairly new, foray into the Micronauts realm. I had heard that Hasbro Toys had secured the production rights to the Micronauts line and that there was possibly an upcoming Micronauts movie...on a side note: I will believe it when I see it(the movie, that is). 

Anyhoo, back to my excitement...as I was saying, before I interrupted myself, Hasbro reissued a set of Micronauts toys for the 2016 Comic-con in San Diego. Yay!!! Well...not so much. Hold the excitement there, Jim. Remember: The Micronauts seem to be cursed with bad timing coupled with bad decisions...

The packaging was spot on awesome. It was the kind of packaging art work that almost made me not even want to open it...almost. It was also the kind of thing us Micro-nerds have been waiting on since the whole Palisades debacle. See for yourself...    

But, alas, our hopes are not too long for this world and must be dashed apart on the jagged rocks of life at the bottom of the cliffs of despair...too much? Maybe...maybe not. Naturally, I had high hopes for Hasbro and the future of the Micronauts line. But, given the intentionally abysmal quality of this reissue set and reading about Hasbro's knucklehead decisions regarding the possible Micronauts movie.

As stated in many other reviews(if this really is even a review), these Hasbro pieces are complete fails. Am I sad that I bought them? No, of course not...but...big BUT...it would be nice if Hasbro took its head out of the sand and gave us some real Micronauts. After all, look at what the vintage pieces sell on eBay for...they could make mint with quality, true to form, reissue figures...too bad Hasbro isn't Takara.
